PRE AND POST WAXING TIPS
Pre-Waxing Tips
-
Do not shave or wax for about 2 weeks prior to your treatment.
- For bikini line waxing, please trim any long hair to around ¼ of an inch. This will make your waxing experience faster and less painful. There is also a charge of $12-$20 for trimming.
-
Females should not get waxed the week before and the week of their menstrual cycle. During this time your body is highly sensitive and you will experience more discomfort than you should! The best time to get waxed is the week after your menstrual cycle.
Before waxing No-No’s
-
Make sure your skin is not sunburned or compromised for any reason.
-
Talk to your aesthetician before your appointment if you use Retin-A, Renova or Accutane.
-
Do not get a peel (glycolic, AHA, etcetera) or micro-dermabrasion on the area to be waxed prior to your appointment. Wait at least 3-4 days.
Post-Waxing Tips
-
Only use tepid water on the areas that have been waxed. The area is sensitive and hot water will feel much hotter than it really is.
-
Do not scrub the area or use harsh soaps or scrubs for 24 hours.
-
Do not get into hot tubs, hot showers, hot baths or the ocean for 24 – 48 hours.
-
Do not expose the area to sun. This includes the tanning bed or sunbathing. This area will burn very easily. You should always wear sunscreen, but make sure that recently waxed areas are well covered for at least 48 hours.
-
Prevent ingrown hairs by exfoliating the area regularly starting about 3 days after your waxing appointment. You can also use Tend Skin to prevent ingrown hairs.
